Just A Little Craftiness

I’ve been busy getting things ready for Strange Folk and The LOT. I have managed to cover almost every flat surface in our house with one project or another. Check out a few things I am working on for the shop!

(When you’re done, head over to OC Weekly to read my interview with Heard Mentality and register to win a 10 bracelet variety pack!)

The Monsters Are Coming

I spent Tuesday night in my Daddy-O’s shop creating a monster….or at least beginning the creation of 100+ monsters. By monsters I mean those gnarly mounted monsters/dinosaurs/animal magnets you see in the photo. I’ve been collecting toys from garage sales, thrift shops, friends’ basements, and even my own junk drawer for a few months. What once was trash is now something purely hysterical for your fridge.

Team Eco Etsy: Eco Tip of the Week

I am a member of Team Eco Etsy, a group of like-minded Etsy sellers that create and sell handmade goods with the Earth in mind.

EcoEtsy’s Mission

Our members are just as dedicated to using recycled materials in their creations as they are about recycling packaging. We take the safety of the environment in mind in the way that we run our small businesses and create our sales items. During our team’s growth, we have become heavily focused on promoting eco-living as a whole; every facet of our lifestyle can be more eco-friendly, and our team has come to focus strongly on this all-around outlook.

A feature on the EcoEtsy blog is the Eco Tip of the Week. This week’s tip is a reminder to put a stop to those phonebooks stacking up on your doorstep, with a handy link to a site that will help you end the madness. My bracelets are featured in the post, so hop on over and take a peek!

Shop Saturday at Tower Grove Farmer’s Market

Saturday mornings are meant for shopping and stuffing your face with baked goods. You can do both this Saturday at the Tower Grove Farmer’s Market in (of course) Tower Grove Park. I’ll be slumped over in my camping chair twisting wire in the STL Craft Mafia booth all day with Miss Lemon, Suzanne Shenkman, Rodeo Revival and Hypercraftive. The sun may be bringin’ the heat, but the fountains on the other side of the market are prime for refreshment. So stop by, grab some homemade lemonade and get yer shop on.

GirlsGuide

Tonight I’ll be down at the Firebird from 6-8PM for Girl’s Guide to the Galaxy’s Midsummer Night’s Out. We’ll be collecting school supplies and donations to benefit the St. Louis Crisis Nursery – South. I will be in the STL Craft Mafia booth with my fellow mafiosos selling our wares, so be sure to stop by and check out the new Big Ol’ Bangles and rings!
